ABOUT MISSION: SHARE THE LOAD
MISSION
Mission: Share the Load is a local initiative sponsored by the Patrick Rudd Project supporting the defenders of freedom and public safety through three areas of focus:
Awareness Programs – for first responders, veterans and service members, addressing post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injuries, suicide risks, on-the-job trauma and other unique challenges.
Support Programs – for first responder agency leadership, to address Recommended Standard of Practice, use of formal and informal post-event decompression, and implementation of routine post-event debriefs.
Sponsorship – for first responders, veterans and service members, providing confidential mental health therapy with culturally competent professionals at no cost (up to five sessions per person), utilizing ART or EMDR therapies. *sponsorship also includes those who were Hopkins County first responders who worked the December 2021 tornadoes at a paid or volunteer capacity (even if you are currently no longer a first responder).
SERVICES OFFERED
Mission: Share the Load offers mental health therapy services for Hopkins County first responders, veterans and service members. Our belief is that culturally competent mental health professionals will contribute to the overall success of treatment for this population. Up to five sessions per person are covered through this program. Many clients see resolution in as little as one session when ART or EMDR modalities are utilized.
